I got a pair of mini pot bellies in earily fall last year. They are about 6 monts old now. I was wonderring if I can leave them together for the spring or if she will be to young to mate. I dont want her to get hurt by getting pregnant to earily. HOw old should she be? What time of the year do they usually breed? If anyone knows or has more info I would love to know. Thanks so much! Gilts start coming into heat at age 5 months. They will come in once a month, best to wait until about their 3rd heat b4 breeding her.

Best to breed them so when they give birth it will be warm.

Boys can breed at some obscenely young age like three or four months. and be fertile. If you don't want the stress of a pre-teen pregnancy, keep them separate.

I have read that it is best to wait until female mini pot bellied pigs are one year old before breeding - especially if the piggies come from small adults (less than 30 pounds). Hope this helps!
