I have a sebright hen sitting on three little eggs. She has been sitting on them for 24 days now. Bless her heart I am giving her as long a possible for them to hatch. Anyways, I noticed her clicking with her beak as I was watching her earlier. Does anyone know if she may be communicating with her unhatched chicks or what? Thanks for any help.

That is very much a possibility! The cluck at their babies. I was going to suggest possibly candling as I started reading your post, then you said she was clucking. So, give her some time..check in the morning and see if you hear a ...chirp chirp chirp! Or even see a baby's head stick out from under mom. Good luck, let us know. :)

Sending good hatching vibes your way

Fingers crossed your hen will be mom soon!

Still no babies. Shes so calm , im so nervous. Will mom help them out of the shell if they need help? I wanna take them out from under her to see if I can hear or possibly see anything since we are on day 25 but I dont wanna mess anything up what do yall think?

No baby sounds yet? You can lift mom to take a real quick peek, if she lets you. No mom will not help the chicks out. Put your ear up close and listen after getting mom to move a bit if you don't want to lift her. Maybe her movement will cause a baby to chirp. Waiting to see what happens. I hope you get some little ones.

Hello,
are you sure about the 25 days? The little ones usually hatch on the 21st day. Maybe the three didn't develop to the end. Did you check them earlier for development inside?
