I was hoping to find a Good recipe for Buckwheat Pancakes. I'm always hesitant to make a recipe from anywhere just off the web. --Some were BIG Flops & a waste of ingredients.

But it's been awhile since I've had Buckwheat Pancakes that it'd be hard to judge if the recipe is flavored like it should. I was hoping to also make up dry mix Jars of Buckwheat pancake mix as a Christmas gift basket additive. Any info would be Greatly Appreciated

1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup buckwheat flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt

beat egg; add remaining ingredients in order and beat with rotary beater until smooth.

* If you don't have buttermilk, you can make it by adding vinegar to regular milk.... I want to say 1 tsp - but you may want to research that.

1 cup of sour milk will need 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Or if you have some homemade yogurt you can use half yogurt and half milk....mix it together and let it sit at room temp to thicken a bit.
