My standard recipe for 100 lbs
cracked corn 15 lbs 9% protein (.20)=3.00
field peas 25 lbs 25% protein (.70)=17.50
crimped oats 20 lbs 14% protein (.30)=6
whole wheat(red hard variety) 20 lbs 14% protein (.30)=6
sunflower(at least half black) 20 lbs 19% protein (.70)=14
The #'s in ( ) are my cost per pound. The number after the = is my cost for that ratio in 100 lbs. I live in Eastern TN and so your cost may vary. I'll post my corn free recipe below and another one I am going to experiment with in the spring.
