Does anyone raise quail on the ground?

It has a mate. They were actively hunting again this morning, one on the ground stalking the quail and trying to flush them from cover while the other was on the wall waiting to pounce.

Yes, the quail are aware they're being stalked. I've done some major renovations to their area though. Better cover options and maneuvering ability if they get spooked. They prefer one particular corner in there and don't use the bin much. Eventually we're going to revamp their wood thing and replace the bin with something else.

PS I thought about borrowing my dads trail cam to see what we might get. Haven't had a chance to talk to him yet though.

Some updated pix of the quail from today. They're five weeks old. I'm hoping the white, gray are female as I'd like to keep them. I haven't caught anyone crowing yet and there haven't been any fights. I also really like the white one with the colorful head.

So far I'm unimpressed with the gold birds so those will go first. Pretty, but they don't seem particularly robust.

I'm sure I have 2 Pharaoh males and I'm thinking about keeping one of those.
