Does anyone still have a landline?

i ditched my land line ten years ago. havn't had one since. same with paying bills. i do everything online. i don't even get my bills sent to me. just digital for me. less paper, less hassle. i love everything being automatic. i never worry about missing a bill, thus no late payment fees. i just paid my truck off and didn't even know it until my account had more money in it than i had thought and my title came in the mail!

We still have a land line. We are down in a river valley so it is VERY difficult to get cel-phone reception where we live, so we HAVE to have a landline.

Also, the cable company refuses to run cable into our valley. The company in the town north of us stops about 2 miles north of us and the cable company in the town south stops 1.5 miles south of us. So we can't even get cable internet.

The amount of trees and precipitation makes satellite unreliable as well.

Absolutely. Poor cell service here, and if money gets tight enough that we have to give up our overly expensive satellite internet service, we can go back to the abysmally slow dial-up.

Still have landline, cell phone only works outside! Yesterday I ordered a laptop for my son, had to call customer service, then I had to go outside & sit in my car to call my card company who has placed a block on all internet purchase because someone (Amazon.com???) had tried to use my credit card illegally!! I was talking to "Mike" & "Cindy" one on cell outside the house and the other on landline! It will be sometime in the future before I give up my landline!

Yes, and even being a teen I don't get why you need to be on the phone 24/7, It would drive me crazy! (P.S. I also don't know how to text, don't have myspace or facebook, and I don't twitter)

My DH saw a young guy the other day riding what we call a crotch rocket (motorcycle) in town traffic and texting at the same time! DH said had he not already been on a traffic stop that guy would have had a ticket big time.

we have two land lines(one home and the other business) and both my husband and I have cells.
We have discussed dropping the home line. But it costs us about $20 a month, not worth dropping
