Does anyone use lime in coop?

We are setting up our coop and have left over lime (used for mini horses bedding to break down odors etc) and am wondering if anyone elses uses this? Are there pro's and con's? dangers in using lime in bedding?

I know this has been discussed on here, but don't remember what the answer's were. Try searching lime. Sorry I couldn't help. Was curious too since we are going to be removing old dirt and replacing with sand soon.

Basically you can only use a certain kind of lime...

Slaked or hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) = BAD
Agricultural lime (calcium carbonate) = GOOD
