does anyone use those premade hutches for a brooder?

They come with grid flooring. Do you use that or put wood or something in it?
At first I added news paper with shaving on top then paper towels. Now I'm wondering it the grid it ok to use.

I put towels down, with shavings on top for the first week or so, then switched to the grid floor as soon as they were a bit bigger. Worked fine for me. Now the small coop is their nest box / shelter area, and they spend their time in the covered outdoor run with roosts, when they are not free-ranging.
