I have been told that a fluffy chicken butt MAY hinder fertility. I have Buff/Black/Blue Orpingtons, and someone said to trim off their feathers around their vents. I liked it because their easier to keep clean and pest free. But, they were at 100% fertility before I trimmed. Has anyone else had fertility increased by trimming their vent feathers? Just curious IF it makes a difference to those of you with similar breeds of chickens. Needless to say, you would not do this to a bird you plan on showing. thanks
