Does every flock have a complainer?

Mine aren't complainers but more whiny. I have 13 LF Cochins 5 GL, 5 SL, and 3 Splash. My birds are all 7 weeks old. It was kinda hot on Wed so they are all panting a bit in these pics.
My Splash have issues..

<-- Green Legs hates to be the first or last one moved in or out from the coop he has to be a middle one.
<-- Cotton Ball likes to wander around doing this very quiet screechy peep until one of the other birds decide to pick on her then it gets a little louder and she goes dashing to me to get away from them and hides behind my shoe. My shoe is the 'safe spot' and they stop chasing her when she gets to me. Cotton Ball has something wrong with her so she is ½ as big as everyone else.
<-- Cry Baby has a temper tantrum if you pick him up or he thinks your going to pick him up but is a happy camper if his feet are on the ground and you squat down by him and hug him to your leg.
<-- Carrot Top is our lone ranger and IMO the head honcho. She likes to just sit alone and watch the others or sit by me or in my lap to nap and is a very sweet quiet bird. The roosters, for whatever reason, feel the need to bug her all the time and she will tolerate it for a short time but if they keep it up they better watch out! She will beat the crap out of the offender and then she is in a bad mood for quite a while. They are terrified of her when that string snaps but tend to forget what happens when they bug her once she calms down again.
<-- Foxy LOVES to be held even on hot days when you would think your hand would be too much added heat. She will follow me around and peck at me and scratch at me till I pick her up and she will sit in my hand almost the whole time they get to be outside if I'll let her. She also LOVES my husband and if I ask him to go out and watch them for a min for me she is climbing in his lap before he can even sit all the way down. Her nick name is my husbands Girlfriend.

I have several chickens that are complainers, but Red our RR complains if she doesn't get cheese at 7:30 in the morning and an egg at 8:00 at night. If we don't do this, she finds her way to our front door, pokes her head in the dog door and clucks up a storme until we let her in the house for a few min. Then there's Gabby, she is very loud and complains even if she's walking around, she is so loud that she bounces up and down. They all complain durning the winter when snow is on the ground, they don't even leave their coop to go in the yard or run. They are all very fun and talk and talk when I go out to see them.

Also my rooster, who went to a new home several weeks ago, was not gifted at all! He was the dumbest thing ever, he would walk around in circles in the middle of the yard when half the hens were under a bush in one corner while the other half were under the trees on the other half of the yard. He would spin and spin, then dash over to half the flock them run 1 acre to the other half of the flock. He also always somehow got himself stuck ither in the garden or in the coop/run.

Out of my 50, Black Satin the black jersey giant is the complainer if that is what she is doing. Never ending rants and raves. And then there is my loving red sex link that is more like a pussycat with all her little noises. But be there no mistaking that Ms Betty White the older White Leghorn still rules the roost. She is like E F Hutton, when she speaks they listen and get out of the way. I have so many varieties and it is so comical sometimes. Say what you want but they make better pets than any cat or dog.

Reminds me of those middle school girls I used to teach. Too funny!

And yes, we have our own complainer, Gertrude. Sigh....

No story to tell?

Aint that the truth!

Toshiko24, I'm thinking your Cotton Ball is a bantam maybe? Unless you hatched her and know different, that is.

I have on out of my six who at the first sign of something unfamiliar will immediately start squawking as loud as she can, and will run as fast as possible over to wherever I am and won't stop until I get rid of the problem. One time she did it witha rabbit across the yard!

*Chuckle* I can so picture this!

"Come on, don't just stand there, do something about THAT!"

We've got one that isn't a complainer more than an alarmist, and she's called what else but "Chicken Little." She is the smallest of them all and the lightest shade of the RIRs and she will just turn and run like she has something tasty and the flock will follow, whether or not she has anything at all. Instant Chicken Football game. She's also the first in the coop at any sign of danger much like the one chickchic9 describes... Also the first to the fence when I visit in the mornings.

Wow, this is crazy but my complainer is my smallest RIR too. How funny is that? Pebbles starts complaining about anything. "Why didn't you bring me a treat!" "She stole MY nest box!" "That new feeder in the coop is going to kill us all!" I call it her Pebby-Alarm.

The story with my Splash, I ordered them from Cacklehatchery and I think I got a defective batch of Splash. Cry Baby is the only one that didn't get sick. One Splash died in shipping, we had another Splash that died at 1 week 1 day old named Baby. Got Life-Lytes mega tabs for their water, eggs to try and give them an energy boost, grit to help digest the egg. Green Legs almost died the first few days I had him but I gave him a Boiled egg and I guess it was enough protein he bounced back and started growing in bounds and is now almost bigger then Cry Baby. Cotton Ball wasn't growing at all for the first few weeks and if you put your ear to his back there was this 'click' sound when he breathed. I haven't noticed a 'click' lately so I'm hoping she will start growing again. She is actually wanting to run and play outside now and take dirt bathes with the other chicks instead of just sitting in the dirt by my shoe and sleeping. All my other chicks have been fine and healthy from Cacklehatchery.
That is Cotton Ball sitting with Carrot Top at 5 weeks old.
