Does Everything Seem Healthy?

1. Ok, there are a ton of feathers in the coop. Can chickens molt this late? My girls are 41 wks old. They have not molted yet, but I thought they were too young. Could it possibly be mites or lice? Here is a pic of my girl that looks like she is loosing feathers. (She does have frostbite)

2. Does this poop look normal? I looked at, and i thought it looked kinda funky.

Yes, they can molt this time of year. And the poop....well....chickens make all kinds of nasty looking poop so the best thing to do is have fecal test done at a vet. As to the mites/lice situation, you will have to actually look at the skin/feather base of the birds to determine that.

Good luck! This winter has been tough on everyone! My friend who lives in north Florida said frozen iguanas were falling out of the trees. You know when Florida freezes all hell will break loose!
