Well, he doesn't look like he's ready to hatch. I can see a big active vein in that membrane, even though it doesn't look like it's been coated with anything yet.

did he hatch by him self? he dose look abnormal

He hatched alone and I peeled off some shell to help it and I sprayed it with water to help lubricate the membrane but now leaving it alone because I don’t want to kill it . I now have him wrapped up in a rag with a heating lamp on because I read new born ducklings can get a cold fast

How long after he externally pipped did you wait to start taking shell off?

he’s looking alittle better I’ve sprayed and left him alone for a couple hours and the blood veins are slowly shrinking so I’m sure that’s a good sign he’s almost ready to pop out
