Around 4:30 AM today, my dad had to put the no crow collar back on Spotted Elk as we had taken it off while he was inside due to the fact that he doesn't crow inside the house. Anyway, he let out a bunch of noise and fought against him. I had gotten woken up by the noise because I thought one of our dogs might have pulled him out and was killing him. I came out in a panic to see my dad putting him back into his cage and I had asked what happened.
After my dad left for work, I took Spotted Elk out of the cage and he didn't struggle at all. He never struggles or fights against me to get free as he sees me as the top rooster and is submissive. I ended up having to fix the collar as it was too loose around his neck.
Does he see my dad as a threat? Is that why he fought against him?
Spotted Elk is currently in my lap relaxing while I type this up. It's 2:17 PM now and he's only been out for a few minutes but he's still being submissive towards me. He's also eating some treats.
