Does hens have the talons?

    Rescued this hen, do hens have talons? She has only one ??? Weird looking hen.. lol

    Yes, some hens can grow spurs. It's not common, but not exactly rare either. Some breeds are more prone to it, as I understand it.

    I have one with one spur; agreed it's bizarre, but it takes all sorts to make the world go round, as my dad used to say :) She doesn't seem to be bothered by it, and it hasn't stopped her being a good hen and broody.

    Yes hens can grow spurs. I had a sweet girl once who had three inch spurs. She strutted around like a rooster, it was seriously cute to watch :D

    Spurs - yes. It's really not that uncommon among game fowl, and she may very well be a game cross.
