So one of my lil babie chicks finally crowed for the first time yesterday and one of my friends wants a rooster and I have one rooster I dont want so my friend is gonna be getting the rooster in about a week or so.

I need this cockerel to be friendly by the time my friend comes to pick him up. I have spent some time in the chick coop with him and he is getting more friendly and not as aggressive. How do I train a little baby rooster? Any replies would be appreciated, thanks!

I have a rooster. When he was a baby he let me hold him and pick him up. He was nice. He's 1 year old and is very aggressive. It doesn't matter if your nice to him as a baby hell change up if he wants. He is taught enough where I can still pick him up and he cuddles some but some days he'll be the meanest rooster and other days he's nice.

Sometime it depends on what breeding you're talking about. Temperament is something that can surely vary from animal to animal because genetics can influence some natural behaviors such as aggressiveness, but it may not be a dominant aspect since we have too many variables to work (time spent dealing with the animal, breed, environment) . Usually bantams are tamer, I myself create hens/roos as pets since I was a little kid. The ones who most spent their time on my company learned to obey and answer to calls like any other pet (dog, cat, etc) and were way more cuddly than the others I had to keep outside. The most sweet roo I ever meet is a japanese bantam called "Pepeto". He's a Mr. Nice Guy who respects everyone, even smaller animals. He will come to rest on my lap and make me company as a cat when I'm on my laptop... I got he and my hen "Pitita" when they were 1 month old and since then I treated them like puppies living 24/7 with them as we live in an apartment... He's a very sociable creature, I love him!
