Does it get easier?

What do you use in the coop floor?
I have used the compressed chips from the feed store I now use organic material that we have around the farm dirt leaves bark etc. we scoop it and put it in and then when I clean it we compost what I remove I found this to be the best method for me as they love digging through the material for bugs and worms and its free my chickens free range so they are really only in the run in the morning until I let them out we have a coop attached to a run hope this helps a bit

Trickiest thing with giving advice here is you're renting, so are there things your landlord will/won't allow? I have to imagine a large stationary coop or permanent run would be out of the question, or tearing up large amounts of the lawn, but sometimes folks get pretty permissive landlords that will allow them to do all of that.

Yep. I would put in a big run and coop if I owned.
