Does my dog really need Banfield veterinarians?

I've used Banfield vet for my dog for five years and I have been paying $80 per month, but I'm wondering if my dog really needs this monthly membership? I still have to pay for services and operations at Banfield, and it would be better if the monthly $80 made everything there free like a club membership of some sort.

What are your opinions? What type of vet do you use for your dog?

Yeah that seems ridiculous. I’d look into the prices to compare. How much is the yearly checkups and shots? The only way I’d see this maybe useful is if you had a problem pet. That one pet that has some medical emergency once a month. For a normal healthy pet that is outrageous. Though honestly, I would never see myself going to a big chain vet clinic anyways. Might be getting controversial here, but I feel like they are corrupt. I would try to find a small vet clinic owned by the vet, not some billionaire corporation. I’m pretty sure it would be cheaper and probably a better experience.

My small town vet charges like 60 for yearly checkup and like 25 a shot. So my yearly vet visit is a little over a hundred. My dog has never been sick or anything and I’ve never had to take him for anything other than that. So besides flea/tick I’ve maybe spent like $650 total at the vet in his five years of living (I added more because he had shots more frequently as a puppy).
