Yesterday I entered the tracking number on the usps website and it said guaranteed delivery by noon today. It's almost 2pm and no chicks :-( I called the PO and they said they won't get any more deliveries today so I guess it wil be tomorrow. Very sad. Oh well. I at least got another day to prepare for them and cat-proof the brooder. Check it out!
@Beriel79 My status on USPS is still "Electronic Shipping Info Received". I'm confident that they shipped out, but I haven't heard from the PO this morning. I called and they said they might get one more shipment around 2:30-3:00 (so those of you who are still waiting in the West Coast, you still have some hope!).
I guess mine will come tomorrow as well... chicken poop...
Here's my sad, sad, empty brooder too! I turned my Eco Glow on prematurely hehe
Also, smart thing you got going on with that lid there. I was very lazy and used the same box my huge bag of pine shavings came in.
Okay, called the post office again, and turns out they're getting two more shipments; one at 5, and one at 6 (other threads made it sound like there's only 1 or 2 shipments per day so I was really anxious). The PO employee I talked to (the same guy this morning) was really awesome and assured me that they were more than likely to get in today.
My PO said they wouldn't get the package now until tomorrow morning...but I asked them where the chicks are before they come to their facility? Turns out they go to a main headquarters (only one town away from me) before they go to my post office. SO, I called that facility and now they have my info as well. They get another shipment tonight around 9pm so I may get a call then! If they do come in then and I hadn't called they would have sat there all night! This is seriously torturous!
I'm thinking the next batch of chicks I will just find a local breeder and take a nice Sunday drive with the kids to go pick them up. Seems much more relaxing and fun.
Beriel -- I hope your chickies arrive today! That would be awesome . Would the main office had called you if they had received them? I thought that they would call you over than delivering them out to local post offices (IMO that would be a lot more efficient if they gave you an option to get it locally or not by calling you).
@solomine , No I don't think main post office would have called me...I think they would have waited and sent them to my local branch in the morning. It does seem like a terrible way of doing things...
