Does she look like wet feather?

I might be wrong, but if she is molting, then she would not be laying eggs ?
I have a heavy duty tub made for mixing cement by hand. I have used it for many years, year round.. I fill it with a hose and the geese bathe every day, even when it is -20F.. after they are finished and it freezes, the next day I flip it over and the giant ice cube drops out. then I fill it the next day again. when I had ducks, they enjoyed their daily bath, too.
if you think about it, the water is about 50F. it actually warms them up.
I have seen water drops freeze so quickly, that it looked like BB's rolling off the goose's back..
female ducks never look as preened as the drakes do..

That's what I thought when laying eggs, but I guess not. I like your thinking with the tub, but how many ice cubes do you have come spring time? Lol

So how do you determine drake abuse? I think that my girl won't go in the water because the drake is always in the water and if he's not and she gets he runs over and jumps in thinking he is gonna lucky. I know that my ratio is off- one hen one drake=not good... but I really would like to wait until spring to get sexed ducklings for him

Could this be the reason why she looks like she's wet, because she may not be bathing enough? Idk just tossing ideas around.
