Does the hardness from bumble foot go away with time?

My duck has been on anti-biotics. I believe the infection is gone. The foot is no longer warm etc.
However, the large hard mass is still there. She is going to the vet tomorrow to get his opinion.
My question is, does this large hard lump, presumably the hardened pus and tissue, go away with time?

Note - every vet I have taken her to has said to do not cut. That removing the kernel is not necessary.

Thanks,

Removing the kernel is absolutely completely 100% necessary and your vet clearly does not know what they’re talking about.

The kernel IS the infection, and leaving it in is the exact opposite of treating it. Antibiotics won’t really do anything if the actual kernel isn’t first taken out.

Can you get a photo of what it currently looks like? It may help us to gauge how you can best remove it.

Can you post a clear picture of the bottom of each foot?

What antibiotic was she on and for how long?

The vet we took her to today was an exotics vet who did a much better job with her. He said it appears to him to be septic arthritis. He did a culture. We will know in a few weeks. However, this may explain why there was the same big black scab we saw last time she had bumble foot.
