Does the squatting last?

My hens squat now when I get near them (they all recently started laying - they're 22 weeks old). I can then pick them up and put them back in the coop, which makes things so much easier than chasing them around the backyard! Does the squatting behavior continue or once they get more used to laying eggs do they stop doing it?

not all of my hens squat...not sure why either...might be a dominance thing

My Silkie runs up to me when I get home and squats in front of me so I can pick her up. Its the cutest darned thing in the world!

My hens don't squat for me but I have a rooster so they don't look to me for male leadership.

I have a 3 year old hen who squats still... I wish my orpington squatted =/. The only ones who will NOT squat for me are :
