That's good, 'cause one they are a 1 they usually don't live. Go to Petsmart and get some aquarium air line and Kaytee baby bird food, then go to Tractor Supply and get a 60 ml syringe and I'll teach you how to tube.

ok. i've already got a 30 ml syringe and some tubing as i was thinking of trying to get water into her this way at the start of all this. i've seen most of the videos you linked, but will watch them carefully again. oh boy... i'm not sure i'm up to this...not sure why this is harder than actually cutting her open, but it is... that said, i can't just watch her starve. she's eating the mash, and now pellets on top of it. doesn't that have enough calories for her? it's not that she isn't eating. she ate some dried mealworms too.

The end of your tube needs to be melted so the edges aren't sharp. I'll PM you my number. This mash, what's it made of?

I weighed my chickie tonight and she's just over four pounds! That makes me feel a little bit better. She's been drawn to the water in the cat dish so I washed it, filled it, and put it in her room. She went right to it! I'm going to get some flock grower and try to get that down her. I was going to give her some canned cat food that I had on hand, but am concerned about changing her diet too much. Will scramble another egg for now. I think the crop is a bit cooler and perhaps the swelling has gone down a tiny bit. Time will tell. Given her weight, and that she is eating, I really want to hold off on the tube feeding for another day. If they are going to lose (or gain) weight, does it happen quickley? If I weigh her again tomorrow is it likely her weight will change?

If they are losing weight they usually lose daily. Same for gaining... might only be a few grams, but it should be a daily gain. Hint... weigh at the same time in the morning before she eats or you might get falsely high numbers is she has a full crop.
