She hasn’t laid an egg in a few days. I checked and she didn’t feel egg bound. I soaked her in a bath anyway. She’s inside now and her poop looks like the photo. It smells awful.

Is she lethargic or exhibiting any symptoms of not feeling well?

To answer your question....No, that poop does not look normal to me.
How old is she?
When you felt for an egg, did you notice if her abdomen was swollen, bloated or felt like it had fluid in it?
Were all the eggs that she laid normal, hard shelled eggs?

I have seen similar poop in hens that had reproductive problems. But, if you have a vet, it wouldn't hurt to get a fecal float to check for worms too.

@casportpony and @Eggcessive may want to chime in as well.

She is around 40 weeks old. I didn’t feel an egg inside, but I did feel something that felt knotty in her lower stomach. She has been eating and is still eating normal. Today, was the first day she didn’t really run around the yard. Though active, she just wasn’t her normal self. She is inside now and resting. The poop was what she did after we “treated” her for bounding.

She has been laying for a month or so now. All her eggs have been normal sized and hard shelled. She laid a BIG one and it was double yolked. Then she laid a few after that. Then stopped. She hasn’t laid one in ONE WEEK! Except for Wednesday (2 nights ago!) she was on the roost and laid a soft shell egg because it was busted on the coop floor the next morning. (Thursday). Today is Friday and we are rolling into Saturday. She has free choice oyster shells, mealworms, layer feed, and she does get scrambled eggs. Idk what else is wrong.

So she pooped that after soaking her?
She may have laid internally and is not feeling too well. Did you happen to notice if she has any discharge like yolk or albumen (whites) leaking from the vent?

She's quite young, but reproductive issues can happen at any age unfortunately. I would direct dose her with poultry vitamins and give her some calcium for a couple of days. She may have another soft shelled egg that she's trying to pass. IF she is lethargic, then I wouldn't soak her again. IF she's alert then that might help.

Yes. I just went to check on her and she had pooped/laid a RUBBER looking mass. I don’t mean like a rubber balloon. Instead it was like an off-White/tan mass and it had some egg yolk in it. Wasn’t a typical soft shell that I’ve seen before. Also, there is some yellow when she poops. She pooped again after I was with her, rubbing her, just now. It was semi solid but has a yellow tint to it.

Can you get a photo of what she laid?
