Does this mean it's a male or female?

i have two healthy black chicks and I was wondering if they are male or female. As this past week went by I noticed that there is more detailing on their feathers and one of them is starting to grow tail feathers. I was wondering whether this indicates if it's a girl or boy?!?!?

Yep, early all right. But a lot of breeds you can tell by them feathering out. But, watch out! They can be sneaky, and then you have to change their names!

The comb on the one next to the feeder looks like it is reddening - but, maybe you are using a red brooder bulb.

Your barred Rocks have big black bars on the wings, and very little white. They are pullets.
