Does this rooster have a yeast infection or something else?

Sorry for the graphic picture but it describes what's going on with my rooster way better than my words could. Does anyone have an idea what this is or how to treat it? His back end smells like a rotten animal but his poop still comes out pretty normal. I soaked him in an Epsom salt bath and put some neosporine on the area when I discovered the issue tonight as a first defense but I'm not sure what it is or how to treat it long term.
I first discovered my other rooster has a sort of similar situation except any yellowish stuff has dried and his vent is hard, crusty and scabbed over (along with the side areas of his vent going down his bottom) and had dried brown poop around it and in the surrounding feathers. His vent area is also infested with mites so I'm not sure if they may be causing irritation which led to this since it's been cooler very wet weather and the chickens are not able to dust bathe. I also soaked him in Epsom salt water which removed a lot of the debris and applied neosporine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you located in a warm area where flies are out now? I would be concerned about the possibility of flystrike or maggot infestation if you have flies now. Flystrike can occur with a poopy butt or from a wound that flies lay eggs on. Can you bathe him again and get a clearer shot of his vent? Have they been pecking each others’ vents to cause that damage? Or pecking at their own vents from lice or mites? Have you tried to medicate for mites? Permethrin 10 spray or garden dust is good to treat at 7 days intervals.

I suppose vent gleet might be an issue. That is a fungal infection of the digestive tract that can cause diarrhea and vent irritation. Nustock cream is a good treatment for the vent, or plain Neosporin for the irritation and raw skin. The Nustock might burn, so maybe use the Neosporin/Triple Antibiotic Ointment first. Frequent vent baths would be needed for now. I also would feed some probiotics to them. Buttermilk with a little cooked rice or a small amount of plain yogurt with cultures may help with that. You can also buy Probios powder at TSC or online there is Grow2Max.

Posting these poopy butt pics is helpful, but we also need to see what his skin looks like after the poop is cleaned off.

How is the behavior of your two roos? Normal appetites? Normally active? Have they ever been treated for worms?

Yeast infection could be the problem from your description of the smell. Nystatin in the water can treat it.

Where on the planet are you located? This is always helpful to know so please fill in your profile with that info.
