I was just thinking what if you were to use canning jars? You could use either jelly or pints and put one egg wrapped in tin foil, wrapped in cotton batting inside each jar pack it up and send it that way. Seems to me if you pierced the tin foil and then use a porous cloth instead of the metal lid that would help

Jars would be a little hard. My last order to Quaillady was 54 eggs!

How many eggs can you fit in a quart sized jar? They also make gallon sized jars too. What if you used those large sized tin cans or a large tin. Seems to me if you punched it full of holes they should be ok right?

I have noticed a drop in hatches in my customers over the last two years especially. That is when I started to add "Please do not X Ray... Live Embryos" to the outside of the box. So then I thought, "Maybe it's my birds" and yet still... new flocks, young birds, flocks with 1:2 hen ratios even... all had bad results for buyers but great results for me.

One thing I think I will change next season is stop writing on the outside and also find a new way to pack. I use pine and in hindsight... a box of pine is suspicious.


Still, on the other hand, I would still buy hatching eggs myself. I just understand that they hardly ever all hatch.

I have captured them I never thought about delivering them I just had to get them more then 5 miles away its amazing what you can do with a funnel and some duct tape

Only thing that is going to help at all with x-raying is lead. Can you still get industrial lead paint?? a coat of that would work better than anything. Only thing aluminum foil is good for is making hats to keep the aliens out of your head.
