My cat disdains the chicken, and I have tried to offer his food to them but they just don't mix well. My cat is at the top of the food apex, the dogs however, well they are stupid about food and think they are chicken. They are great and keeping predators off the property but they are mostly noise and show. The cat on the other hand removes anything under 7 pounds.

He is the king of our property. The dogs trust him to be the alpha male around here.

my wild cat has many chicken friends, he is always right out there hanging with the chickens all the time, & maybe thats why the birds of pray stay away..? when they see the cat & figure its safer to go hunting wild rabbets instead ,but when it comes to his cat food , the chickens are right there to help him out of his food HA, he tries eating as fast as he can just to get a few bites in before the chickens arrive to help him out of the rest, so i started feeding him double amounts of food after the chickens go to bed at night , that way he can eat it all night long ,its the only way the cat can ever eat in peace with 75 chickens around , but he is also a good mouser to HA . Mine do! Dog food too! It’s kinda nice, though. The chickens pecked the cats a few too many times taking food, and that made the cats scared of the chickens, therefore they do t try to catch/kill them! If only the dogs were scared of them... our youngest dog is notorious for killing and eating an occasional pullet of stag...We just started feeding the cats once the chickens went to roost.

The chickens pecked the cats a few too many times taking food, and that made the cats scared of the chickens, therefore they do t try to catch/kill them! If only the dogs were scared of them... our youngest dog is notorious for killing and eating an occasional pullet of stag...We just started feeding the cats once the chickens went to roost.

I know how that is my schitzu killed a full grown brahma. That fight could've gone either way lol
