Doesn't crow but doesn't lay.. I think I'm a roo though

Hatched out June 2009. Thought it was a hen as it wasn't rooing or showing any interest in the ladies. But then it isn't laying! It didn't have a big comb until recently. All of a sudden its attacking everyone that walks past it. Is it a roo?

Yep, that's a roo. Do you have other roosters as well? Often a subordinate roo will not crow.

Yep have 2 others roo's, they both crow. Can you see the black cochin in the back ground, would you say thats also a roo?

Unfortunately, I can't see enough of the black cochin to hazard a guess. If you can post a pic of just the cochin....

Hmmm...tough one. The photo is a little dark to see the saddle & hackle feathers. When you look at them, are they pointy and the saddle feathers curving towards the ground, or are the hackle/saddle feathers more rounded? That would be the best indication. The body and tail shape look hennish. The comb/wattles are pretty well developed and red enough that if its a hen, she should be laying soon.

Is that any better? Shes a month older than the other one she was born May 2009. Ive never hatched my own before so haven't a clue whose a roo or hen!
