I got my first egg yesterday, 25 weeks to the day. I've got 2 Ameraucana, a Barred Rock, and a RIR. I've been expecting an egg for the last month at least. They didn't really give me any sign that it was coming. Maybe a little more vocal. I had finally given up and started telling everyone it wouldn't be until later in January and longer days. Anyway, they picked a good day, my birthday and our first snowfall.

I got an egg today!!

I'm so eggcited! I think it was Reba, it's a small brown egg. Small, but perfect! She didn't lay it in the nest box, but it was right next to it in the shavings. That's pretty close for her first try!

Now I just need the other girls to join in!
