He was Diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy and is doing great on meds.

Downside is, he's got 6 months to 3 years before his back legs are paralyzed and we've got to put him down.

Oh, I'm so sorry. My dog got cancer and his spleen ruptured. It was very hard to see him go

I'm glad you got the answer you needed to help him and I am terribly sorry about the diagnosis.

As a pet owner who recently went through something similar (our 11.5 year old golden retriever passed in October after a 3 month battle with stomach cancer), I just want to tell you to make the most of every moment with him. Take him on every car ride you can, go camping with him if he would enjoy it, let him play in streams and lakes, and buy him toys every chance you get. Hopefully you get closer to the 3 year mark with him, but you'll never regret making the most of what you have left. Sending love to you and your sweet puppy.
