When we brought Abbie home to live with us from the shelter we had 3 month old pigs. Abbie wasn't sure what they were then they started playing with her as if she was another pig. She now plays with any and all pigs that we raise. Matter of fact when we take the pigs to market she mopes around for about a month. Her buddies are gone again. But when we bring more home she acts like a kid in a candy store.
Thanx Denise for posting the pictures of Dodge and his little swine friends. Dodge has always been fond of pigs why I don't know. When the pigs were in the stall in the barn he couldn't see them but he knew they were there and he would whine. Dodge is special in the aspect he loves all animals, dogs, cats(well he doesn't love love cats but he tolerates them), chickens, goats, horses, cows and etc. He won't even chase a squirrel! He is my St. Francis of Asissi of the animal world. He has a very calm demeanor and is very passive and other animals can sense this.
I have to admit, Dodge is very good, even around the chickens. He is the only dog allowed off leash around the chickens. And the funny thing is, they don't even think of his as a threat. He just roams around in between them and they just hang out, and three of them have been attacked by dogs. So, he is a very special dog, that is always welcome in my house. It is weird too, my daughters Jack Russel, who hates almost all dogs, just loves Dodge.
