Dog attach, now other problems

thanks guys, I was worried they were holding them in and hurting something else by not laying...

Had to fix DD lunch, but we are about to go get the antibiotics and probiotics now!

Will update soon, we are supposed to be going somewhere later today I think I'll just leave her inside in the dog crate to rest and recoup!

Well my Tractor Supply didn't have any kind of antibiotic... I did get something called VetRx it says its a Poultry Remedy effective relief and prevention of colds, rout, scaley legs and eye worm. So I'm going to try that...

When we got home she seemed to have moved closer to the water bowl but I haven't seen her drink and one wing is spread out, not tucked by her side... and her breathing appears labored and she looks like she's having a hard time keeping her eyes open

I don't know what else to do... it's not looking very good for her I don't think :(

Keep an eye on her comb, if it starts to turn bluey at the tips that's bad news.
Maybe just try to give her some privacy, drape a towel over half the cage (so you can still keep an eye on her)

<3 much love and hugs

Thanks Ribbit I will try that

DD is 8 and will be sad if she don't make it :( I will be too

It is fine for them not to be laying because all of their energy is going into recovery. It may be several months before they lay again. Probiotic, and antibiotic should be good. Sometimes though they just get depressed and occasionally just decide not to get better but thankfully this is fairly rare. The dirty vents could purely be from the ordeal, just like if you have any scared animal they will poop or pee until eventually they begin running out so it becomes looser. Something definitely isn't right and it could be internal or mental, a lot of the times with chickens you sort of have to treat the symptoms, let them rest, treat them kindly and hope for the best! Good luck.

thanks for replying AmberRex! That makes sense about using their energy to recover

Any ideas about where else to get an antibiotic for her? Tractor supply is about the only 'farm' store around me...

She has stayed pretty much the same all day... I don't think she is drinking. What should I do about that? I don't want her to get dehydrated on top of whatever else is going on....

My neighbor helped me just a little bit ago. He works with turkeys and he told me to mix a little bit of aspirin with water and he spooned it in her mouth and made her drink it, he also said iodine would help her bottom so I held her while he put iodine on her butt. So maybe that will help. He said she didn't look to good tho and to be prepared she may not make it :(
