Dog attack - Ellie dislocated toe - me, broken bones UPDATE

I'm glad to see your update, too. I wish PT didn't hurt so much and that you could find a lawyer to take on those jerks who are diverting water onto your place.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this. The soil folks unfortunately didn't take an interest because the bad development was a single family. Have called everyone everywhere, including every state office imaginable. They all said they do not make a town enforce its own ordinances and that the only option is a lawsuit.....the story is torturous and it's been going on since 2004 now, having consumed countless hundreds of hours at this point, and egregious sums of money..... and while every lawyer has said it's an excellent case with a win virtually guaranteed - the many permits/ords/laws broken are clear and undisputed by the town - they have only wanted to move forward on a (very high) fee basis. So I've been stuck, so far........And yet it is the folks who caused all this that behave in an incredibly hostile manner, as they sit high and dry on the hill!

Hope each of you is doing great, along with your feathered friends

With the economy being slow I bet you could hire a dozer cheaper then a lawyer. A nice D-6 Cat can do a lot of work in a day's time!

But I think there has been work going on with this the whole time.

Awww they are so cute
Awww everyone is feeling icky
Awwwww just cause things stink....

All you have to do is let me know and I will come help and leave you a bill to turn into the lawyer. Only thing is when it comes time to settle I may not be online any more

Really if there is anything I can do let me know.

Do you think your new lawyer, the one that is helping you with the dog bite case, also be able to help you with this waterway problem?

I hope you continue to improve! You are still in my prayers

I live out in the country so my husky (Minne Mo) runs loose, but stays close to home.

I know how hard it is - I have both (husky -whom I've had for years) and new to my mini farm are the hens - mine are for eggs & meat -but it was still very hard to butcher 7 hens in one day because Minne Mo got into the coop.

Everyone says I should shoot my dog - but she's been in the family longer than the hens - can she be rehabilitated to know that the hens are off limits?

Heart broken - I love both dog & hens!
Any advice will be appreciated!

Only you can decide whether to keep the dog or not. If your dog runs loose, even "staying close to home" may not be that good. My neighbors thought that staying close to home was good enough for their dogs. Those dogs killed my chickens and another neighbor's small dog. They also chased horses and injured 2 other dogs. Where I lived years ago, another neighbor had an extremely friendly dog that ran loose but stayed close to home. It ran in the road one day. A driver swerved to miss it. There was a terrible accident, and people died. Please consider a fence. Even in the most rural areas, sooner or later, there will be another person, animal or vehicle that may come into conflict with a loose dog.

Edited post.

Please review the guidelines for this section of the forum here, especially the following:

*That being said, please do not gloat or suggest torturous ways of killing for pleasure or indeed, post in such a way that your predator control can be construed as pleasure killing instead of simply taking care of a problem.

Thank you for understanding. ~Lisa~
