Everybody loves a happy ending! Lets hope this thread finishes with "you can't even tell where"!
You are doing a wonderful job and thanks for the updates!
Bec, good job! I read this post a bit late, but am hoping all continues to look up. I took notes of all the good suggestions in case this ever happens (again!) to one of our "gals"...good ol' Magnolia survived two direct hits by a fox!
GOOD NEWS!!!! Cinderella is doing great and is now outside with her sisters!! She is flapping and trotting around out there free ranging with everyone! My number one worry was the rooster, but she had no problems beating him a few times on the head to let him know who was the boss!! I made her a thicker padded saddle (Strawberry Shortcake) to wear just in case, but she won't even let him stand next to her! I also made it for her so she can stay warm. I knew it was time when I walked in the bathroom and she was jumping out of the box she was in. She is very attached to me now and will run to me when she needs too! I was going to bring her in still at night so she doesn't have to jump up onto the roosts. Although she had no problem going up and down the ramps of the chicken house!
I have a RIR pullet that somehow got scalped.... literally!
I smeared her with triple antibiotic and kept her alone for a week. That was over a month ago!
We now call her "Custer" Yeah, I know, VERY poor taste.
She's not the prettiest RIR I have, but definately the most easily recognized!
I am very glad to read the Cindy is doing so much better. As I posted earlier I would have put her down. Your efforts and her continued improvement shows that I was wrong. I commend your BYC abilities. Great job. Hopefully I never get to old to learn.
