Dog attack- how do I treat chix?

Here are the girls- resting well. After their bath I kept them wrapped up in towels which seemed to really settle them and keep them still and balanced. They are all doing so much better. Not sure what to do about their legs as I cannot find any breaks to wrap but they are still limp. Thanks so much for your input today! I figured I would have at least 1 dead chicken by tonight but instead- all 3 have rallied!!

It could be some nerve damage with the foot, time will tell I guess. However, it could be a paralysis caused by dehydration. How long have they been going without water? I had a hen that was lost and trapped behind some tin once and she was well wedged in there and not discoverd til almost a week later. We thought she was dead. Well, she darn near was dead. I immediately brought her in and put some fluids in her. Nursed her back to health in due time but she always had some toes that didn't work to well after that. I learned dehydration would do that to them. Something to consider. You might try giving your girls some fruit or vegetables with high water content to help them rehydrate.
As far as smell, chicken poop stinks and there is just no avoiding that. Clean out the litter or shavings daily. I would put them on pine shavings as that really helps absorb the waste and keeps it off the chickens. If you have a heat lamp, I would unwrap the girls and put a heat lamp a bit above them to help them dry. Or, you could blow dry them. They tend to relax under the heat of the blow dryer. It does take awhile to dry feathers that way. By the way, if you give them another bath, warm water relaxes their muscles so don't leave them or they could drown if the water is deep enough. I always have to keep a hand under mine or they just sink. Could be my water is just too warm. :p

Keep all the wounds covered for now and some Bactine spray
would bee good to use very lightly and always after spraying
let air dry for 10 minutes before wrapping up .....

The legs hopefully will recover in a week ...

To get them up off the floor I would make them a chicken sling. Holes cut out for the legs, under the vent so they could poop. That way not in the mess staying clean and would be able to stretch legs out. You could even get them to be just above the floor so they could reach the floor withou putting all the weight on the legs. Make them do exercises to get legs moving too. Could even place a "seatbelt" over the back so they don't try to flip out.

Several people have used the sling for leg, feet injuries. Try a search for sling.

Good luck!
