Dog attack, need advice please

Today we learned that our dog of 3 years has to go. He attacked one of my 5 week old wynadottes. Thankfully we were there and he only did a little damage. He ripped off the feathers and skin on one side of her neck. I cleaned it with water (it's all I have) and put antibiotic ointment on it. She is now in a tote alone and on a towel. She is eating and drinking ok. Is there anything I need to watch for or do for her?

There is no training this dog. We couldn't even break his stare at the chickens for more than a few seconds. I thought about an electric fence but my DH said it would only be a matter of time till the dog would find a way and would end up killing one or more. right now he chained to a tree, but every time a chook makes a noise he stares and licks his chops.

UPDATE: not a good day. Our dog killed one of our 5 week old Wynadotte. He pulled it through the fence. On a good note the one the dog hurt earlier is doing just fine. She is back with the others and is healing fine. The others are leaving her alone (did a test run before letting her loose). We have already put an ad in the paper to find him a new home. And I just finished putting up a separation netting on the chicken side to keep them from getting close to the dog run, they are free rangers.

Sorry about your chicken. My DS's dog just killed my 5 chicks I had. So now the dog is never outside unattended plus the new chicks and the chickens are kept locked up.
