Thanks for the idea but not wanting to get a dog. wife has three indoor dogs (little pain in the butt rats). Do not want another one. Thanks.

Man's best friend is often a chickens worst enemy. Before we had our Maremma we lost several birds on two separate occassions to an irresponsible neighbor's lab. Labs are bird dogs so they are the worst but most dogs will just kill the chickens for fun, not even to eat them. Now, nothing gets into the yard at all. The only other deterent is a rifle, sad to say.
