Omelet is healing nicely except for the limp. Took some update picts so you can see how well she is doing. I really didn't think she would make it.














I got a good look at her leg and do not see any injuries to the leg its self or the joint area. Not sure why she is limping on it but it is obviously painful.

My chickies never cease to amaze me with how resilient they are. I only wish they could talk to us, so we could figure out the parts that remain a mystery, like why they limp. Maybe she realized that if she limps, she gets more chickie treats?

Omelet is doing great! She had some outside time the last couple of days. Today I let her out when I did chores and she followed me into the teenagers run. She had a great time scratching and pecking and her limp was much less noticeable after being out of the cage for a couple of hours. I brought her back in when it started raining but will be putting her back out there daily since they all seem to get along. She even flew up onto a makeshift perch for a little while.

She has been in the pen all day. If she goes into the coop with them at dust, I will just leave her out there.

Sorry I have been MIA this week I have been crazy busy! I have been working the home and garden show. While I have been busy so has Omlette, I found three eggs in her coop today. I'm so happy she feels good enough to lay and I can tell she feels so much better and happy to be outside with other chickens.

Last Omlette update! She is doing great. Back to normal in the teenager flock but I still plan to move her back into the layer pen. She is laying eggs and teaching the new girls how stuff works. You can barely tell where the dog munched on her. Just a extra tuft of feathers on her back.

Nope, all healed up. She still has some bare areas but even those did not scar real bad. I knew feathered would not grow back but she has quite a bit more coverage then I thought she would have. Sooo happy!
