this is on the rear end of my chicken i’ve cleaned it with sterile saline but I don’t know if it’s enough she also just had some water. so I don’t know if we are making progress

Chickens are amazingly resilient. I would seperate her, keep her warm and quiet, push fluids, and apply triple antibiotic (without pain reliever) to her wound. Keeping her warm and quiet, and pushing fluids is important to stave off shock. Wishing you the best of luck

I don't see the need for an oral antibiotic. A simple triple antibiotic like neosporin applied directly to the wound should suffice. Definitely push water. Hold a bowl of water up to her beak several times per day to ensure she is drinking. If possible, add vitamins and electrolytes to her water.

The pain relief in some triple antibiotic ointments is toxic to chickens.
