dog attacked favorite hen!

I am totally new to this whole chicken thing, and some people had their dog here today and it ripped the tail feathers out of our rooster and grabbed one of the hens. She is still in shock, I think. She has 2 gaping wounds on both sides of her, muscle is exposed....not sure if I can sew it up...lack of skin and I am scared to! What should I do?? If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very grateful. We live 17 miles from the nearest town, and there is no feed/farm store there. Pretty much need to do this with what I have on hand. We do have stuff for horses & cows. Thanks for your help! The kids are beside themselves right now, as she is one of the favorites. God bless!

you can email me PM and I have experience of my friend who just doctored some fol with serious wounds

I will be here for some time waiting to hear from you

if you can put one time
peroxide on all the wounds
then put iodine straight on the wounds and
and then put neosporin salve over all the injuries on top of the iodine
keep the bird by itself to regain nervous system

also you can give an asprin to each of the birds but before doing this
give probiotic wet mash 1/2 doze
3 tbsp dry crumbles
6 tbsp of milk any kind
1 tbsp of yoguart
then add in each 1/2 of this recipe this
* each bird= 1 Vit E 1000mg cut piont off capsule and put in wet mash

*each bird 1 Vit B complex pill crushed in tbsp and add to the wet mash

do this now and in 6 hrs give it agasin

then tommorrow give full amt to each bird with the two vitamins aded\\do this for full week
then three times a week and then twie a week then once a week till healed

Thank you for your help....I did nothing and she is just fine! She was slow moving for a few days, and I hand fed her some grain and tried to make her as comfy as possible. She is growing new feathers and cleaning up the site where the skin was tore away. Not sure how all that is going to come out, but she actually started laying again! I was sure she wouldn't, but we've gotten 2 eggs from her in the last couple days. She is a bit cautious of leaving the coop, but does go out in the yard for a while each day. She has flown up to the top nesting boxes a time or two, but still prefers the bottom. Thanks again for your advice!

Glad to hear she's OK - I would just be sure she doesn't get attacked by flies. I've sprayed Furozol or Furazine(sp?) on wounds and had excellent results. It helps with healing and is also a fly repellent for wounds. I get it at any feed store - it has a picture of a horse on it, blue can, bright yellow spray. Works great on chickens and dogs (esp fly-bitten ear tips) as well as horses.
