Update:
Wound is still looking great.
I was too chicken (LOL) to get him out this morning due to biting. But really I don’t blame him
he’s been under fluorescent lighting from 9-9 sadly because there is no way to have natural lighting for him. which a huge problem with this house actually.
anyways here’s tonight’s photo prior to triple antibiotic it’s looking great!
Husband thinks he should stay inside a few more days.
Should we wait til it heals closed and the scab falls off?

Looking great! I personally would get him outside and just make sure he doesn't get fly strike

You have done an amazing job getting him healed up. I am sorry I have been missing in action. I got sick with an Upper then lower resp infection. Neg COVID, Thank God. I was sick enough.

I read about you wanting to let him free outside. Reminder: You MUST be very careful with "fly strike" because if he gets that, your going to have a huge battle on your hands and one he may not recover from. You can do some research on it by going to the upper right hand side of the screen. Look for a brown tab that is listed "search" then type "Fly Strike" and read all about it.
In my opinion, you have done such and excellent job at getting him healed up that I, personally wouldn't chance it. I will try my best to check in and see your wonderful healing pictures of your Mr., Mr.

I think we will wait til it’s completely healed.
I’m ready to get him out of my laundry room but I don’t need him back in there super sick next

Today he broke out of his enclosure after his morning clean and triple antibiotic.
From what I can tell it looks completely closed and since he managed to break out I figure he’s ready.
However once outside the other males immediately started bowing up.
Are they just trying to put him in his place among the new order?
They won’t even let him forage without trying to gang up on him.
He can’t even preen without them flocking around him.
He has no interest in the ladies he just wants to forage after a week + in confinement.
My boys don’t yet have spurs but I worry if they gang up on him he won’t have a chance.

Lead cockerel is to the left - his 2nd in command is to the right. The one who hasn’t engaged is on the dog kennel.
They just won’t leave him be. He’s stood his ground a few times and took off a few other times but they just follow him

I worry if I put him in jail my free ranging chickens won’t get alerts to threats we’ve had hawk activity lately.

The excitement seems to have passed or at least subsided.
Our lead cockerel and our sweet Blackie have seem to come to terms I saw them perching near each other and he can now walk the yard without being stalked by the lead.
2IC (2nd in command) still won’t leave him but he’s also a RIR and he still picks on the chicks so he might be turned into chicken soup.
