I suggest you call the SPCA and ask if it is indeed considered animal cruelty and if it is illegal to band a dog or not (i really think it is..but check first to be 100% sure.., because i'm usually wrong, also state laws may vary...) THEN..make your decision from there.. Dont listen to all of us..we can only give you our PERSONAL opinions on the matter..i dont agree with it...and thats just MY personal opinion. Which i am entitled to...just as the people who disagree with me are entitled to their opinions...
All i can say is follow your gut...and find out the laws before you do anything. Good luck..

Some things are just evil. Starving an animal, beating an animal, etc is evil. It is wrong.

When you band goats/cows/sheep etc it hurts for about five minutes or so. They are uncomfortable just for a few moments, but it is nothing like it is with cutting pigs. Banding is much safer and less painful.

I just wanted to say that I have found this particular debate interesting. I would have said that banding was cruel but after reading some of your responses, I am no longer so certain.

Iv seen dogs banded.Its a good way to neuter and cheap.Make sure they get penicillin to.

Its the same as banding livestock,People just freak out when you do it to a dog or cat. like omg
