Dog chewing her feet

I would seriously encourage you to research and consider a fresh food diet for her. The dog I had with this type of issues years ago, this was the only thing that helped him. Learning how to feed him started me on the journey to becoming a raw feeder. I was doing it way before it was the trendy cool thing to do.

A good site to start http://www.rawlearning.com There are also some good lists at Yahoo..

Also, dogs metabolize differently than humans. You can give one 25 mg pill of benadryl per 25 lbs of dog. So for say my Newfoundlands, I can safely give 5 benadryl pills and my Retriever cross, 3.

TOTW is grain free but dogs can be allergic to meats as well and occasionally supplements. Alot of the TOTW formulas still have chicken meal and chicken is one of the main allergens for dogs. Lots of people though have found their dogs can eat backyard raised chickens but not store bought or any dog foods with chicken so it's something in the meat besides the chicken itself.

I have had years of experience with skin allergies unfortunately. I did feed DVP Natural balance and recently switched to TOTW about 6 months ago. Did see a big improvement. I think the foot soaks are a great idea, my vet told me that allergy testing would most likely be a waste of money because my dogs were probably allergic to weeds, grass, etc. So I get my dogs a steroid shot in the spring and and mid summer and it really cuts down the licking on the paws. I am going to try the foot soaks though.
