Dog- didn't kill her...

My Springer Spaniel, Suzie, tried to "play" with my 8 week old Black Australorp chick that I was holding. That chick got Suzie on the nose twice, and now she won't go near ANY of my chickens or guineas. Suzie is still curious, but won't go near them when they are out of their coop/run !

I haven't tried it with my dogs yet, but it seems really helpful. And it's not like it's the whole "this might work" kinda deal, this guy is so sure of this technique that he offers a thousand dollar reward to anyone who can bring him a dog that can't be trained into getting along with chickens. I think everybody with a dog that's killing their chickens should have a look at this.

he is waiting for the chicken to move so he can chomp down on it again.... I don't care what breed of dog it is, with a lot of no and leave it + time you can train any dog to leave chickens alone.... we keep all sorts from border collie, pitbull, daschunds, etc and none are killers, accidents happens when they're young and bouncy but not when they're older, you should teach them what they can and cannot touch.
