DOG EATING CHICKEN POO HELP

When we had our old golden retriever, we were often puzzled as to why we never, ever had to clean the cat litter box.
Then one day, we heard the cat finishing up raking the sand and saw her jump out of the box. The dog immediately ran to the cat box like a kid hearing the ice cream truck.
He emerged with tell-tale blue crystals stuck to his muzzle.

Dogs eat poop like it's candy.

The "leave it" command could be a possible help here, but you're in for some exhausting training, fighting an uphill battle against dog nature.
Soooo true.:lau

Your fears about worms are unfounded. Worms are species specific. Worms that are shed by chickens will infect other chickens not the dog not the cat not the kids. Your dog is subject to the fungi and bacteria in the feces. He doesn't however have to eat it. It can be inhaled or absorbed trough the pads on his feet. There is a huge ick factor with dogs eating pop but they are dogs. It's what they do. You're not going to stop it. Dewormed your flock and dog as needed and maintain a healthy happy flock and you will reduce any health risks to the dog.
