Well, I think she's okay now. Here's what I think happened. She does have severe gingivitis and dental disease, and we have been giving her antibiotics. however, for a while, she was dripping blood from her mouth because of the gingivitis. I think so much blood got in her stomach that it caused her to vomit it up and make her sick.
That's my theory. However, I will keep an eye on her, and if it starts to get worse again, I will definitely take her to the emergency vet.
At 10 I am guessing she is not prone to chew on inappropriate things.....
Keep a REALLY close eye on her.
My girl went from looking kinda off to almost dead in 12 hours.
I am really hoping it was a one time thing.
All 3 piles were pretty large. Just curious, why do you ask?
What color and texture was the blood? Can you post a pic? Was it bright red like when you cut yourself or blackish like a scab? When is the last time she ate and what do you feed her?
