my mom and sisters carry this always when they walk the goofy boxer. because he will go after the coyotes and the coyotes will instigate a fight.

yup, of this i have no doubt. the other evening my sister and I were washing the old horse for a show. my 3 year old son is sitting on the truck of a car a few feet away babbling the whole time. the old horse starts acting nuts and pissy and after we finished my twin turns and looks to see a coyote just standing about 15 feet away watching my son. even with two adults and a stomping pissy BIG horse the darn things have just no fear. the kids are never outside alone and are never allowed more then a few feet from us. now they aren't allowed outside in the evenings and are carried or hands held if they must be walked to the car.

There actually is an account of a woman getting killed by a pack of coyotes, though there has been some dispute to the report.

I've been in some third world countries where there are feral dogs, wild dogs, coyotes, jackals. Most of the country people are absolutely terrified of them, and a statement like, 'Let's go for a walk!' is met with 'Are you out of your mind????'

AND THE REALLY WIERD THING IS....LOL...

THat the wild dogs are in the city, and you look at them with this, 'Hi doggie' look, and it is the most chilling, wierd feeling....THEY...DO...NOT...SEE...YOU. They treat you like you are a tree.

And the dogs kind of hang around where you eat and have dog wars with each other and fight for the scraps...

Then you see some tourist go over and scream, 'take my picture with the dog!' and you're like, 'no, no, no, don't touch the dog it has DISEASES and it is going to bite off your face' and they are like 'CHILL!' and then CHOMP!!!!!!!!

JRT appeared to be making a recovery yesterday, she was eating a little bit, was trying to walk around, but this morning upon waking, I noticed that she never woke up herself.

Wrapped her up and placed her in a packed cooler and headed to the vet for cremation.

As for the other 5, the bulls, all went to the vet for neutering upon return. It is such a sad a solomn day here with out the dogs!
