I'm experimenting with changing my dog's diet to more fresh/raw and was curious what others are finding is best for their dog. :love

Dry kibble is what I’m currently feeding, though not what I’d like. I’d love to do raw or even half and half if I could afford it. I’ll probably start doing half and half in the next couple years.

Kibble because even cheap wet food is too expensive to feed to large dogs. I can get a better quality dry food for the money than wet food
I just give him one spoonful and mix it in with his kibble. He houses the whole thing down LOL I used to give him like half a can at once and that’s way too much especially getting a normal amount of kibble and not cutting back/accounting for the wet food. LOL now I just do the spoonful and the cans last MUCH longer and my wallet is way happier and he doesn’t notice or care. Win win. LOL obviously it’s still expensive but it does help a little LOL

I feed my 5 (plus a foster pup here and there) a pretty decent grain free kibble and meat scraps at least once a week. I will also add flax seeds, chia seeds, coconut oil, and veggies a few nights a week.

Highly recommend watering down kibble!! Way healthier and keeps enough fluids in their systems.

My previous dog Ranger and current dog Saphira are pretty good at self regulating. If I mix in wet food, sure they'll scraft it for a few days but after that it sits and goes bad. What works best for me is to just free feed dry food and only give anything like that as an occasional treat. That way it can stay out until she's ready to eat. Ranger went through maybe a bit under 3 cups a day while Saphira goes through a bit over 2? A reasonable amount given their respective sizes
