Dog got off chain...killed one injured another

I would leave at least water for the bird, maybe a chick waterer, and make it dark for her so she calms down, stress is hard on them.. I used Aureomycin in the water for awhile, on the label it can be used for poultry, but you can't eat the eggs until they are off of it for some time. I know dog bites are very infectious. You can use regular antibiotic ointment on the wound, I remember she kept picking at it to get the ointment off, so then I duct taped the gause on her. I seems as if the wound you describe is much smaller than what I delt with? Make sure it is irragated, I used a contact lens bottle of pure saline solution to really clean it out, a puncture wound can have feathers poked down into it, you would need to really clean it out good, but don't stress the bird too much if you can help it. I hope she makes it.

You might play the radio really quietly in his space to make him calmer. That will wash out any other noises and probably make him feel safer. We used to do that for our nervous dog and it worked really well.

Generally, most people say not to put antibiotic ointments on punctures. It can trap germs inside the hole. Instead, wash thoroughly and use something not sticky/greasy, like bactine or hydrogen peroxide. Ointments are best for scratches, burns, rashes, etc on the surface of the skin.

The chicken is likely in shock. You might sugar up the water and try to get her to drink. Put a heat lamp on her as well.
Good luck.

She is doing better this morning. She still won't eat or drink so I cooked some egg and found a dropper for water and got her to eat some egg and water after I put it in her mouth. I took her out of her bucket and she walked a little around our small bathroom so I put puppy pads down and just left her out.

I will add some sugar to some water and see if I can get her to drink a little of that

Well I put her outside this morning with the others and she went straight to the water dish and drank and drank. Hopefully the others will leave her poor bald back alone.
