Dog grabbed our duck and her leg is broken!

The splint has been OFF for almost 2 weeks! It was on for almost 2 weeks! I had no idea how long to leave it on (I asked and very few people responded), and the advice I got was to leave it on for 2 weeks, so that is what I did! She can not walk at all.....The leg that was hurt stays out from her body, she can't even put it under her body! When we put her in the bath tub, it is still out from her body but she can move it from the top part of her leg in the water... I don't want to euthanize her, and I haven't....but I don't know what to do if she doesn't heal up! When we put her on the floor she falls over if she tries to move! The one leg stays under her(but she can't stand on it alone) and the other leg is out from her body! I'm still putting her in water daily, but if she doesn't get better what other choice do I have?????
I am wondering if the splint may have caused the bone to heal improperly and thats why the leg is where it is now. Only you can make the decision on what is best for your duck, a vet would have been the best course of action right off but We all understand that isn't always feasible As far as humanely putting one to sleep Again a vet would have the means to do it.

Take her to a vet for farm animals and have them treat her. Send the bill to your neighbor. We did this with dogs that maimed and killed our goats.

Hi there! Sorry I never updated this! But I wanted to update! It's been 4 mths since I last posted and Lil Duck is Alive and well! We kept her inside for about a month! Her leg didn't heal properly(probably because I splinted it wrong), but she is back with the other ducks outside and happy! At first the other ducks picked at her, but after a week or so they accepted her back and even wait on her to catch up with them! She gets along pretty well although she is noticeably handicapped in the one leg! The only real issue we have is that she can't get in the creek or the kiddie pool on her own! We usually put her in the pool daily for a little swim and she can get out on her own! I'm really glad that I didn't give up on her!

It wasn't my dog. It was a neighbors dog and they no longer let it follow them when they go on their four wheeler!

Man I dunno about you but I'd be LIVID. You're a much more forgiving person than I would be in that situation. :/ I hope your duckie's leg heals up okay ;;
